Placebo Inspired | Trillian Skin (v1.3) by wesleyzloza Placebo Inspired | Trillian Skin (v1.3) by wesleyzloza
For a very long time I have been using the Windows 7 skin Placebo developed by deviantART user SolMiler and needed a chat client that matched my desktop. A couple hours of work resulted in the following Trillian skin. I used the same layout found in the Mac skin skin developed by Trillian Wiki user Scream81. I changed the colors of fonts and many of the skin resource elements. Im still working on fixing some bugs and would still like make some changes to the skin elements. I'm hoping others will get some use out of it.

- Installation Instructions:
- Extract the skin folder from the zip archive.
- Place the skin folder within the skins program folder.
(Commonly C://Programs Files(x86)/Trillian/skins)
- Select the new skin from the settings menu within Trillian.
- Restart Trillian.

Change Log:
- Fixed the text color in the basic chat windows.
- Cleaned up the mark up language for message windows.
- Performed a minor cosmetic change.

- Changed preview.png within the Trillian skin.
- Removed pink font as notified by deviantART user ~spartanhooah.

- Added new preview art.
- Other minor changes..

Anyone else have 'White Text' in the reply area on IM windows? It's like a white/light-grey text on the grey background for me.

brilliant! I've been using the Placebo shell theme for a while myself and had been using the "windows dark" theme by Scream81 here on Deviant art. Placebo Inspired fits such a better fit.. thanks!

Thank you!

I really like this skin - it's actually really useful when using Trillian to handle IRC chat on Twitch, because the solid dark (but not too dark) background allows for a light colored font to be in the foreground.  The solid background can be easily made transparent in the stream and the light font shows up better in games.  It's easy on the eyes, to boot.

What I don't like are the Mac-style buttons up top - they're unlabelled and not even color-coded (though I'm red/green colorblind, i can still look for that big red X).  Is there a Windows-style version available?

Sadly there isn't one available. Those buttons are also a little glitchy which I apologize for. I haven't had much time to work on any development.

Also noticed that instead of a maximise button.. Both of those buttons minimize, and there's no way to resize the windows :(

First of all: nice work! There are still occasional problems with to low color contrasts in the contact window but overall very nice.

Is there a way to configure the tab-headers chatwindows with multiple open chats? The current version takes a ton of "unnecessary" space showing user pictures. Also it shows an "empty" picture for group chats, possibly add a symbol for group chats instead?

Haven't read through comments but have anyone besides me had issues with group chat member list being black so it's hard to read?

Ill take a look into this!

And a hot fix for the group chat member colors:

in xml\controls\channelcontrols.xml replace the lines from approximately 47-58 (should look like the ones here with other values set) with these ones:
<color name="default-fore" red="140" green="140" blue="140"/>
<color name="group-fore" red="140" green="140" blue="140"/>
<color name="background" red="-1" green="-1" blue="-1"/>

<color name="normal-back" red="-1" green="-1" blue="-1"/>
<color name="normal-fore" red="140" green="140" blue="140"/>
<color name="hover-back" red="240" green="246" blue="253"/>
<color name="hover-fore" red="140" green="140" blue="140"/>
<color name="hover-border" red="184" green="214" blue="251"/>
<color name="select-back" red="199" green="223" blue="252"/>
<color name="select-fore" red="140" green="140" blue="140"/>
<color name="select-border" red="125" green="162" blue="206"/>
