Placebo Inspired | Trillian Skin (v1.3) by wesleyzloza Placebo Inspired | Trillian Skin (v1.3) by wesleyzloza
For a very long time I have been using the Windows 7 skin Placebo developed by deviantART user SolMiler and needed a chat client that matched my desktop. A couple hours of work resulted in the following Trillian skin. I used the same layout found in the Mac skin skin developed by Trillian Wiki user Scream81. I changed the colors of fonts and many of the skin resource elements. Im still working on fixing some bugs and would still like make some changes to the skin elements. I'm hoping others will get some use out of it.

- Installation Instructions:
- Extract the skin folder from the zip archive.
- Place the skin folder within the skins program folder.
(Commonly C://Programs Files(x86)/Trillian/skins)
- Select the new skin from the settings menu within Trillian.
- Restart Trillian.

Change Log:
v1.3:
- Fixed the text color in the basic chat windows.
- Cleaned up the mark up language for message windows.
- Performed a minor cosmetic change.

v1.2:
- Changed preview.png within the Trillian skin.
- Removed pink font as notified by deviantART user ~spartanhooah.

v1.1:
- Added new preview art.
- Other minor changes..

Awesome theme! Is it possible to have other Message styles for this one? I hate those mac os x bubbles..

You can try the chatviews installer here to see if there is a message style that fits well in Placebo: developer.ceruleanstudios.com/…
I'm working on the Message Styles there to make them groupchat compatible and ready for Trillian 5.5.

I've been making minor personal changes to this but there's one thing I'm not sure how to approach - the min/max/close buttons. I'd rather they were right-aligned as is Windows and even Placebo, or maybe that they worked off of Windows frames so as to use whatever Placebo theme is in use.

I'm guessing the latter might be hard, but what do I need to edit to just alter the alignments?

Anyone else have 'White Text' in the reply area on IM windows? It's like a white/light-grey text on the grey background for me.

brilliant! I've been using the Placebo shell theme for a while myself and had been using the "windows dark" theme by Scream81 here on Deviant art. Placebo Inspired fits such a better fit.. thanks!

I really like this skin - it's actually really useful when using Trillian to handle IRC chat on Twitch, because the solid dark (but not too dark) background allows for a light colored font to be in the foreground.  The solid background can be easily made transparent in the stream and the light font shows up better in games.  It's easy on the eyes, to boot.

What I don't like are the Mac-style buttons up top - they're unlabelled and not even color-coded (though I'm red/green colorblind, i can still look for that big red X).  Is there a Windows-style version available?

Sadly there isn't one available. Those buttons are also a little glitchy which I apologize for. I haven't had much time to work on any development.
